I don't know if I ever mentioned this before, but my dad used to whistle a short tune whenever he returns home from work and upon hearing that note, my siblings and I know that our dad is home.
I don''t know how it happened but this little whistle note has been ingrained in our brains since we are young (you can say we were brain washed) lol.
Anyway, now that we are all adults, and even during our teenage years, whenever we went to a function or any big enclosed space with our dad, and he wants to leave or speak to us or anything at all, he just whistle and we (my siblings and I ) will acknowledge it. Either by looking for him or going to him.
I had this brief discussion with my sister before, about a week ago and we both agreed we felt like pets that react to something their owners say or do.
Like my cat Oreo, he knows "mum mum"means food and "down" when we want him of tabletops. He also selects who he "ärgues" with when he does not want to get off the tables. (Mostly Me. Because I let him get away with it) - I can't help it he looks soooo cute when he meows and "begs" to stay up on the table top.
I digress.
Anyway, I think it's a great way to bond between family members with a sort of "secret code" where only the family members know of.
My dad has parenting done right since day 1.
